я очень согласна с тем что тут написано, поэтому сохраню
ибо никакие проблемы с бюджетом ~~причем сомневаюсь были ли они~~ не влияют на качество сценария, который по идее должен планироваться в первую очередь. Постановки драк, эффекты, все такое прочее, безусловно требуют вложения средств, но неужели на режиссера тоже денег не хватило? Операторская работа на высоте, тут не поспоришь, но походу беднягам операторам и реквизиторам приходилось извращаться как только возможно, чтобы заставить картинку выглядеть прилично, потому что большую часть персонажи тупо стоят в кадре и тянут время, произнося длиннющщие диалоги ни о чем и не делая почти ничего полезного или даже бесполезного

I am soooo in love with these guys right now. Totally my new obsession! And therefore, even though many have already said this, I still have to add my two similar cents because I find myself actually getting ANGRY about this: it is physically HURTING me to watch this show because it is SOOOOO unworthy of Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu’s talents and the superb efforts they were putting into their performances that it’s downright CRIMINAL.
Seriously, a CRIME was committed against these two amazing actors.
I know they had to change the original story because of censorship issues, but I absolutely don’t believe that can be an excuse for absolute shit writing.
Some of the directing is pretty atrocious too. The CGI is horrible, but I’m actually able to stomach that because I’m usually pretty forgiving about budgetary limits.
What I can’t forgive are choices that have nothing to do with budget, but rather creativity and talent, or the lack of.
Not even going to go into the horrible ADR stuff because I’ll just start seeing red. I’ve only gotten as far as episode 11 after four nights of watching, which is rare for me cuz I’m pretty good at binge-watching, because it’s been a real chore struggling through the episodes.
When Shen Wei or Yun Lan aren’t on screen, everything becomes absolute trash but then I can’t just forward through the scenes because sometimes there’s actually crap that gets referenced later and then I’m all confused and have to rewind to figure things out.

It’s infuriating. I’m at the Hanga tribe arc now, with really some of the shittiest supporting actors I’ve ever seen on screen. I was hoping those two “Romeo” and “Juliet” dumbasses of the arc would be gone by the end of it, but it looks like we’re gonna be stuck with these assholes cuz the boyfriend is now a part of the permanent cast. Shit on fucking crap toast.
и да. насколько эта арка разносторонняя в новелле, настолько же она никакая в дораме. справедливости ради, она и в новелле местами скучновата, особенно там где дается просто текстовая часть про прошлое племени в виде рассказа. Но там безусловно есть и масса классных моментиков, которые в дораме показали.. да не показали по сути или просто слили. А кое-что так растянули, что я едва не уснула в процессе просмотра.

Anyway, I just had to get that off my chest. I love Weilan so much and the two actors are so damn talented and are so good in their roles that I’m just so bummed and annoyed about the shitfest surrounding them. I’m glad their popularity benefited from this show. They deserve the world for being two gloriously sparkling diamonds in a pile of stinking dinosaur feces.

Back to trying to sit through this shit. Thank God for the shippy moments between Shen Wei and Yun Lan. They are truly the salvation.

I actually started crying at Shen Wei’s reaction to the question, and then that cut to the “past” was just perfection.
I’m guessing that might’ve been a straight from the novel moment?

As I mentioned to a fellow Guardian fan, I don’t even want to read the translations of the novels yet until I finish the show otherwise I might not be able to enjoy the show at all.

I’ll probably be too angry about the changes to do so. But I am starting to wonder if the writers/directors spent all their energy and focus on making sure all the WeiLan moments are perfect so they ended up short-changing everything else.

Правда во второй половине ВэйЛань почти все время раздельно, так что сомневаюсь что дело в этом. ну либо энтузиазма хватило только на 1 половину.

I guess that’s not a bad thing per se. But at the same time, the show is made up of too much of everything else so it’s like URGH, why can’t you be better????

I love the music, btw.
Everyone said the music is good, everyone is right. I bought the soundtrack already, and I’ve been listening to Zhu Yilong and Bai Yu’s duet on repeat more times than is healthy for the past couple of days, and that song hasn’t even been featured in the show yet. Also, another positive thing, the wardrobe. Some of the clothing both the actors and actresses wear are pretty snazzy. (с)
